Our compost collection services include:

• Biweekly residential compost collection
• A 65G organics tote

Accepted compost materials include:

• Fruit and vegetable scraps
• Food leftovers, plate scrapings
• Meat, poultry, fish, shellfish and bones
• Liquid dairy products
• Eggshells
• Bread, cereal, grains
• Pasta, dough, pizza
• Baked goods, candies
• Coffee filters and grounds,
• Tea bags & loose tea
• Baking ingredients, herbs, spices
• Nuts and shells
• Grease and liquids
• Used, uncoated paper cups and plates
• Paper take-out containers incl. pizza boxes
• Egg or Milk cartons
• Paper, newspaper, flyers & magazines
• Kitchen paper towels & toilet paper (with or without rolls)
• Paper bags & boxes, cereal boxes
• Wax paper boxes or wrapping, take out coffee cups (without plastic lids)
• Dryer sheets and lint
• Wooden chopsticks, bamboo wear, potato wear
• Clean or dirty cardboard (free of tape or staples)
• Houseplants (no flower pots)
• Yard trimmings, flowers, sticks, leaves
• Pet waste (non bagged or silicone/plastic litter materials)

Material you should not put in your compost:

• Foil wrap, pouches and pie plates
• Metal of any kind
• Cereal and cracker box plastic liners
• Soiled diapers, baby wipes
• Cigarettes and butts
• Vacuum contents and bags
• Plastic containers and cutlery
• Plastic bags and wrap, bottles and tubs
• Glass bottles and jars
• Aluminum foil
• Aluminum cans
• Styrofoam

Here are some things to remember in order to avoid missed compost pickups:

Please be sure your compost is:

• Out by 7:00 am
• Within 1 metre of the roadway
• Visible from the roadway, not obscured by snow, parked cars, hedges, etc.
• In the green tote we supply for you
• Contains only the accepted compostable materials listed below!
• We strongly encourage the use of certified compostable bags to keep your tote clean and help reduce smell, however this is not mandatory (bags can be found at a few local suppliers or ordered directly through us)
